Celtic Tour II
Celtic Tour II
1 day tour about Celtic heritage of Northern Iberia
Service Description
At the dawn of history, between the forges of bronze and iron, the peoples of the Northwest of the Iberian Peninsula colonised the mountains with their hillforts and stone villages. They watched over their walls the Atlantic waves and the southern limits of the Douro River. Waiting for what was to come. They were the Callaeci, the Celtic tribes of today's Northern Portugal and Galicia, with their unique culture, arts and architecture. Like a delicate filigree, they managed they culture balanced between the military power of the tribal warrior chiefs and the matriarchal order of their social organisation. By the mid-second century BC, the Romans meet, by the first time, these people that they called Celts, with their round shields and curved swords, surprised by the black tunics of the men and the garish colours of the women cloaks. Tour duration: 1 day (Tuesday to Saturday) and Celtic Dinner Includes: Transportation, meals (lunch & celtic dinner), tickets (where applicable), pack of selected merchandising.
