Alentejo's Wine & Olive Oil
2 days quick tour in Alentejo's Wine & Olive Oil
Service Description
Near Évora, the capital of Alentejo, a region known for its tranquil pace and golden hues, a journey unfolds; one that transcends the ordinary, drawing you into the essence of the land through its liquid treasures. We begin at Herdade da Calada, where among vineyards and olive trees, you’ll uncover an overlooked estate, rich in history and craftsmanship. In the cellar, you won’t just taste Calada’s exquisite wines - you’ll be invited to craft your own blend. Experiment with selections from different barrels, each aged in distinct types of wood, and explore how subtle variations in wood and aging can transform the wine’s character. As you blend, an entirely new dimension of flavour will emerge, deepening your understanding of the craftsmanship behind every bottle. A short drive later brings us to Monte da Oliveira, where time seems to stand still beneath the thousand-year-old wild olive-trees - a singularity in today’s world. Here, olive oil production is far more than a business; it is a family legacy, driven by love and a commitment to preserving heritage. Passed down through generations, this grove thrives on a deep connection to the land. As you walk among these ancient trees, you’ll uncover the secrets of their resilience, and the delicate balance required to keep them flourishing. Our journey culminates with an olive oil tasting, at the point of origin, led by the estate’s owner, followed by an authentic Alentejo lunch at the family’s table. Savor the flavours that have defined this region for centuries, paired with stories and the warmth only a family can offer. This is not just about wine and olive oil - it’s about legacy, the land, and the enduring connection between them. Alentejo awaits—are you ready to discover it? Tour duration: 2 days (Wednesday and Thurday) Includes: Transportation, hotel lodging (1 night), meals (lunch, dinner), tickets (where applicable), pack of selected merchandising.
